Ocean City, New Jersey is a great place to live and vacation. Known as America's #1 Family Resort, Ocean City is home to miles of beautiful coastline, great shops and eateries, and exciting activities that the whole family can enjoy.
One of the most notable features of Ocean City is the boardwalk. The boardwalk was first constructed in 1883 on the sand from 4th Street to 7th Street. Since then the boardwalk was extended and renovated several times. In 1928, the boardwalk was rebuilt after it was severely damaged by a serious fire in the center of the city. Today, the boardwalk stretches 2.5 miles and is a hot spot for residents and visitors alike.
If you live or vacation in Ocean City, then you are probably familiar with Georgie's Candies, which is located on the boardwalk at 7th street near Gillian’s Wonderland Pier. The most popular of all the Ocean City candy stores, George's Candies is notorious for its delicious homemade macaroons, fudge, salt water taffies, ice cream and breakfast.
The legacy of George's Candies dates back to 1954 when it was first opened by George Koukoulis on the Ocean City boardwalk. The store quickly became known for its delicious homemade treats and exceptional service. While a lot has changed about the boardwalk since the store first opened, the impeccable quality and taste of our treats at George's Candies have remained the same.
George's Candies was renovated and expanded in 2003. We relocated our ice cream bar to the front of the store and also added our breakfast café, George's Breakfast Grille. Now beach goers can come by and enjoy our delicious made-to-order breakfast dishes, including omelets, pancakes and waffles.
